Product Description

Commercial-grade, IP66 Waterproof LED light fixture assembled with a custom spectrum developed specifically to maximize the growth of freshwater plants.  By using a mix of the world's most efficient LEDs, these fixtures deliver incredible PAR levels (micromoles/m2/s) into your tank.  Hence, this spectrum is extremely capable of growing the most demanding freshwater plants.  The slim fixture design (1" tall / 2" wide) will improve the appearance of any aquarium.  Available in 4 fixture lengths and 5 beam angles to work with all aquariums.  This spectrum has a higher count of 660nm Deep Red LEDs to maximize the photosythetic efficiency of the lighting system, so the color temperature is slightly warmer/pinker than the Freshwater Show Spectrum.  Plants appear very vivid and natural under this spectrum.

    I ordered two of these lights and the color spectrum was not as warm as I would like. Nick (CE0) bought bulbs like I had in my T5 fixture, and then created a new spectrum for me to mimic the color spectrum that I liked. He did all of this at no extra charge to me. Also, he made the fixtures 29" vs 30" to ensure the cord didn't bend too much inside my canopy. I am thrilled with the LEDs. They are a quality product. I encourage anyone with any questions to just give Buildmyled a call, and they will give you great advice. This is the best value on the market today, and with endless spectrum configurations and various angles, it is an incredible product.

    I bought one 90 degree light for a 2 foot tank. As it was tank mounted the light distribution was not as good as I wanted. I ordered a second strip (70 degrees as suggested on the website) - and the difference was immediately noticeable - brighter fish throughout the tank and bubbling plants. Great investment and noiseless (compared to fan cooled fluorescent bulbs). Great service - fast and efficient.

    I am very happy with the quantity of light produced by this fixture, and my plants love the light as they are pearling like crazy! I think the balance of colors is excellent, and I am very happy with the beautiful design.

    I have had my 30" light in place for a couple of weeks now and I can still not be more pleased with my choice in buying this light. Everybody who comes and sees the tank comments on how good the lighting is and how well it compliments the tank. The quality of the product is outstanding and I can not thank Nick enough for his help during my decision making. Excellent customer service... this is exactly how it should be done. Can't wait for my new tank to arrive so I can order a light for that also.

    I purchased the 48" planted tank model and I couldn't be happier! I thought my growth couldn't get much better than what my t5ho were giving me, I was wrong! Not only is the growth great, it used less energy to do so. If you're going to use a hanging kit you should also invest in the dimmer, these babies are bright and you'll want to dim them a bit at night. You won't regret this purchase!

    The quality of this fixture is superb. Its built very well and looks great. The colors of my Discus look more bright, and I love the ripple effect you see like with metal halide but without the heat and power usage. I went thru 2 t5 fixtures that neither lasted more then a couple months, ballaat shorted or just cheaply made. Best part is no bulbs to replace! This light cost what i would have spent on bulbs in two years. I would recommend your company to anyone, and i will! American made and your customer service is awesome. It was nice getting all the emails, from time of order to the time it showed up. Thank you!

    Soon after installing the new fixtures over the nano tanks I could see the difference in the plants - you could see pearling on the leaves and the growth rate of the plants exceeded expectations. Even high light demanding plants such as Rotala macrandra responded well. Being such small tanks (6 and 12G) the tank mounts were very helpful to ensure the entire tank was illuminated and the apex dimming cables helped to reduce the intensity in the smaller tanks. Overall I was very impressed the customer service and the quality of the product. Would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in upgrading their tank lighting.

    I have only had my LED planted tank fixture for a few weeks, so i will refrain from commenting on how well it grows plants. but that being said the craftsmanship is excellent!

    Nick,

    I just received my 48" fixture and I am VERY impressed at the quality -- actually, I am shocked because it is so much better than I expected. The metal cased power supply is way more rugged than the typical plastic ones I see, the wiring connections are superior and the fixture itself is incredibly compact and -- I think - elegant. The lights are great. Since I'm putting it on a heavily planted tank that is now in the process of a drystart it will be a while before I can see how it looks with water and plants in the tank but my expectation, based on the incredible brightness, is that it will be perfect. From the PAR chart you generated for my tank I already know the power levels will work. I very, very seldom write notes of thanks when I buy something these days because I'm so often disappointed when the product arrives. But, in this case, you far exceeded my expectations. I'll send a photo or two when I have it installed.
